We're expecting to get hammered with freezing rain.
I'm making all the preparations: wood stove and water (if electricity goes, so does our well pump).

I just came in from running the dogs in the snow (7" from last week)

We've been getting sleet/freezing rain on top of it this afternoon and it is slick

I wish I had a video of the dogs chasing the frisbee in the snow - slipping and sliding
Even with claws these guys were out of control. Pretty funny !

This will be the third or fourth Friday in a row for another one of these "not quite a NorEaster" storms.
Luckily will be on the 'rainside' again. Although the Northerlies after the center goes by have been bears.

Puget Sound country in WA-- for the next few days, highs in the low 40's or high 30's, and lows in the 20's. Poor homeless folks are going to freeze!

Crap-Tastic here in the Chicagoland area. Snow, sleet, freezing rain, and lots of it. Moving out of our area by 10 tonight - gonna be a long ride home for many though. :>)

Good Luck!

Getting some real snow here too... 5-7 inches - fun...

That said - never ever forget a trip a few years ago to California. Heard the morning weather report include remarks - it's gonna be a cold one So Cal.... 60-something was the high expected.... now - having just flown in from near zero temps in the Midwest - could only laugh at that being called cold. Imagine someone from Minnesota would really bust out. smiling smiley

It was sleeting here, just north of Atlanta and Decocritter, earlier. It has stopped for now. It should be fun in the morning if it's doing it during rush hour.

I spent 2 winterless years on the road and it was the best time of my life. was in cali and FL most of the winter. And it was funny. It was in the 60's in LA and they were all worried about the homeless folks freezing to death outside.

Went to Minnesota on a business trip in January (from So Cal).

It was -25F not including wind chill.

Business trips to Minnesota were monthly -- we were there when it rained 1" in an hour; when it was over 110 with 95+ humidity for a while (the time the football player died a few years back; the day we flew out it was 85 at 7:30 AM). We managed to make all the record-breaking weather...

In So Cal, it's mid-40s to 50s during the night; that's parka and long underwear time for us.

I am in the city of Chicago and we didn't get one snowflake all day. My parents and my sister who live in the 'burbs did get a few inches but since we were expecting 3-6" it seems we dodged the bullet.

My nipples are getting chapped in SoCal.

69 can be freezing when you're used to 80s.

Just spent the last 40 minutes moving the snow around my house, shoveling and snowblowing. We probably got between 4-6 inches today on top of the approximately 6 inches we already had on the ground.

We will definitely be having a White Christmas this year.

Winter Advisory for Georgia Just updated. Hazardous conditions will become worse as far down as Fulton County (Atlanta)

Glad I got coffee, sugar and cereal and a few snacks.

People go crazy at the store.

Need to crank the heat up and get the house as warm as possible.

It is the ice that knocks the trees and lines down.

You're not considering wind chill. Riding my motorcycle, it feels almost like 62. Brrrrr!

49º, I wish, it's 15º here in NJ.
I am not looking forward to anymore snow, I've had enough already. At least it is supposed to get warmer on Friday, all that rain may just melt the snow we have left.
