"Our contacts in the supply chain," he claims, "point toward a new iPhone model to be release by March." A report from UBS Investment Research has raised Apple stock to an estimated $220, and author Reitzes says that it will keep rising by the time MacWorld comes around next year. A new iPhone in the Spring. Gee these analysts are really on the ball. Just for the record, I'm predicting speedbumped Macs next year.

Well, analysts have been predicting apple phones from a decade. Those were wrong.

Actually I'd be surprised if there was a new one by Spring. It will only have been in some markets a few months. iPods don't really get revisions more than once per year. If anything, they may go to 16GB but I think it will be software updates only, with iPhone 2 introduced at MWSF in Jan 09, to be released a few months later with 3G and whatever else.

Two questions must ALWAYS be asked when reading this stuff. If the answers are not in the story, ignore it.

What is the business relationship between UBS and Apple (if there is one) and how much aapl (if any) does the writer own.

Most serious wallstreets report routinely include this info.
