Anyone in Chicago have a source for Solar panels near or in the city??

I need it for my son's Science fair project...size not too important..not a tiny one though, we want something somewhat useful. Like, for trickle charging batteries.

Thanks

I'd try American Science and Surplus. They have one on Milwaukee and one in the 'burbs I think.

Harbor Freight Tools has a 12 V trickle charger for about $20.

Don't know if there are any in the Windy City though.

I know there is a Harbor Freight on Dundee between Buffalo Grove Rd. and 53. Not sure if that is BG or AH, but it is near the Kohls.

Some autoparts stores have solar panels but they are usually more like $30 to $50.

Potato batteries are easier to find parts for.
:-)

Radio Shack might have some small ones, but might be limited to 5 or 6 volts.
Marine supply would have bigger for charging batteries, but not cheap.

Thanks folks, trying to decide on a trip to Harbor Freight or Science and Surplus.

Rusty...yeah, I'm doing this with my son and going somewhere to find what we need is part of the whole process. It's fun. Shopping on the internet kind of kills that experience.
