handy, somewhat old (relatively speaking) Plextor 708UF external DVD burner has been good and bad depending on its mood and diet... I recently upgraded its firmware to 1.12, hoping to make it happier. apparently it still can't make up its mind how it wants to behave. any clues on what firmware and/or burning apps it might like best under Tiger? for the time being, an external Apple ROM Pioneer DVR107D of similar vintage seems to be playing nicer w/ Tiger. strange thing is, after Plextor firmware update, internal Pioneer 106D has been acting weird, too, though the Plextor seems to have actually gotten better at burning CD's (verifies faster) after the firmware update; it's the DVD burning that's wonky. any ideas? thanks,
