Spreadsheet: How to Divide Hours (4:30) by Volume

I am trying to do this spreadsheet. There is a volume being measured every so often during the day. I need to determine if the RATE is increasing, decreasing or staying the same.

I have created the spreadsheet with Date, Time, Duration, Amount and ml/hr columns.

The trouble I am having is calculating the ml/hr column.

I have the column that is duration since the last measurement. I want to take the volume during that time, and divide it by the time. I can't seem to make it work.

Maybe because the Duration column is in the format 6:57 which is actually a time and not 6 hrs and 57 minutes.

What can I do?

convert the time to seconds, do the math in seconds, it's easier and logical.
