Logitech Harmony 550 Universal Infrared Advanced Remote Control, Good/Bad?

Thinking of getting the Logitech Harmony 550 Universal Infrared Advanced Remote Control [www.logitech.com] to substitute for the 6 remotes currently on my coffee table. Anyone use this model and have good/bad things to say about it. How easy was it to program, battery life, etc.

Thanks

I have the 659 that I like but have to push the "Help" button way too frequently when it doesn't change from Digital 1 to Digital 2 input (most frequent problem). A friend has the same model and doesn't have these problems, so I may have a defective unit.

The setup is on your computer with their software. They have a huge database where you chose your TV, receiver, DVD player, DVR, etc. Once you have all your components set up, you download it from your computer to the remote via a USB cable that plugs into the remote.

I can't comment on battery life, except that I've had mine for 7 months and it is on the first set of alkalines.

Spock,

A thread about my experiences with a Logitech remote:

Definitely not a viable option for me. YMMV
