Ya never know when you'll need a nuclear carrier.

SAN DIEGO (AP) - An Illinois teenager who underwent surgery at sea after
her appendix ruptured on a Mexican cruise was to return to the mainland
Tuesday aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier that came to her rescue.

Laura Montero fell ill Sunday aboard the Dawn Princess off the coast of
Baja California. The ship sent out a distress call that was answered by
the USS Ronald Reagan, which was on training maneuvers about 500 miles
away.

A helicopter from the warship plucked the girl from the Dawn Princess and
brought her to the Reagan, where she underwent emergency surgery.
Montero of Albion, Ill., is expected to make a full recovery.

Just curious - do many other hospitals use Craftsman Tool Carts in the operating room?

Disclaimer: I work for the Navy, and am extremely proud to do so. It just seemed like a bit of a juxtaposition to see one of those in an operating room. I really am curious if thats SOP for other hospitals...

When they aren't operating on people, they're fixing jet engines. Carriers are big, but they need to use the space efficiently.

Crash Cart - I worked in a hospital for 15 years in the 80's - mid 90's and Craftsman roll arounds were very common.

ER's, OR's, and just about anywhere you can imagine they had them.

Well built and affordable- well they used to be - not so much anymore.
