Are people here avoiding using Google?

With the current going-ons? Anyone using either Scroogle or Clusty?

I'm not thrilled with seeing that they are showing my supposedly anonymous yahoo.com account, whenever I do a Google search...

I thought this was going to be about peoples inability to do simple research themselves

:-)

How is your non-use of Google going to keep your supposedly anonymous stuff off the net?

The net is a VERY public place and any and all actions can be found if someone wants to bad enough.

I am not avoiding it, but would like to. They are not a good corporate net citizen, IMO.

They may not be entirely "not evil" but keep in mind that Google is the only major search engine that *didn't* instantly roll over and give the fed their entire database.

Who else you gonna use? Yahoo!
Not if you're a Chinese dissident.

Effin, besides Scroogle and Clusty, there are also web anonymizers...

I also rely on Google for my work. Bangman, what kind of work do you do?

I've been using A9 for the discount - but that means that I'm using Google anyway.

I used to use Dogpile all the time but for some reason I got away from it.

I use A9 for the itty bitty discount it gives me on Amazon. So ditto what msienkiewicz said.

There's an article in this month's "SmartMoney" entitled, "Watch Out Google."

Barry Diller now owns Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) and, not suprisingly, says it's smarter than Google. SmartMoney seemed impressed with the limited searching they reported on.

I'll try it again; I've been googling for several years.
