How long will store-bought Alfredo sauce keep in the fridge?

I never use the whole jar and by the time I'm ready to eat it again, I get a feeling about the leftover stuff. I wouldn't think it would freeze well.

Never seen it last more than 7-10 days.

There's only one way to find out how long that sauce will last in the fridge. Eat it and report your findings back to us.

As long as you keep the door closed I don't think it will be able to get out.//

it may be dairy-based, but there's probably enough preservatives in there for it to last 6 months in the fridge once opened. Of course, you could always just smell or taste a little bit if you're suspicious.

I'll freeze a little and see how it goes.

Hmmm, maybe I've lived dangerously, because I've gotten away with using it after several weeks. It may be dairy-based, but I'm guessing clay is right and there is stuff in there to keep it fresh once opened.

Forever, barring edibility.

You may have been lucky. I have seen store alfredo sauce stored in my refrigerator bloom with mold or something similar after a week or so. That is even with using precautions to avoid getting any microbial contamination when using the first portion. Had a bit more luck with tomato based sauces, the acidity helps protect them a bit longer but even they go bad. The preservatives help, but they have their limits once the vacuum seal is broken.

P.S. My frig stays at about 34 most of the time, have a thermometer inside to keep track of that.
