Can an escutcheon-less kitchen faucet replace one with escutcheon?

This is probably a dumb question, but I'm clueless about this type of thing, and I hope one of you know; I have an existing 3 hole sink & faucet that has an escutcheon base, something like this:

Is there anything about this base that limits me to buying one of the same type without buying a new sink? I'm thinking of replacing the faucet with this one:

should be able to, unless the sink has other holes under the big plate in pic#1.

There might be some discoloration/marring from under the old faucet that may no longer be covered. You can look first.

The new one needs 4 holes. You will have to drill a new hole unless yours has a 4th hole covered with a cap. You might be able to install it without the sprayer but you will have to cap it off under the sink. Or get one just like it without sprayer.

All holes on sinks are 4" apart

All holes are 1 3/8" in diameter

If you have enough holes this will be an easy replacement.

Use steel wool to clean soap scum from underneath old faucet and you're all set.

Good Luck
