rifle vs shotgun.

depends on local hunting laws and various loads.

You can get a rifled shotgun or a shotgun and a rifled choke and use a solid or hollow point slug.

Or you can get some shotshell loads chambered in various pistol and long gun chamberings.

I've found over the last couple of days the orange-flavored Delsyn stuff pretty effective. What I like is that it's a "rifle" as you say, it only does one thing (cough suppression). Last night the magic wasn't quite there, so it's not perfect.

When I was young I'd get a cold and a day or two later it'd be gone. Don't have enough symptoms for flu, but this thing has lingered for over 2 weeks and I'm tired of it. The coughin, just as I'm trying to get to sleep, pissing me off.

Each day in very incrementally better, but still.

with the exception, none of us here are kids anymore. It takes us longer for just about everything.

Live by and work for myself. Not a lot of up close sustained exposure to kids or people with kids. Been pretty lucky for a long time, years and years without a cold. Lots of pop and food so I can handle a couple days resting. The cough like you say makes sleeping rough. Will go to market tomorrow when pharmacy is open to see if they have some stuff behind counter that works better or at least I can make meth from.

Two of my buddies have had this kinda stuff for weeks. That worries me.

There is nothing non-prescription that works well for coughs. The best remedy for cold/flu cough is to start taking decongestants early and constantly and thus not irritate the throat by postnasal drip and/or mouth breathing. At a later point, warm milk with honey or icecream may help by soothing the irritated throat.

I would see a real physician for a truly persistent cough - the infection may have spread to lower respiratory regions or is bacterial.

Did you determine this yourself or while working with Dr. Pauling? Just curious at what dosages you've been testing on viral replication (let's say.... of the Corona type), and how long and large the sample?

I did heavy duty traveling on planes and was exposed to awful sickness. Heading off a cold with Vitamin C was a blessing and resulted in a mini-cold.

Who are you to say different? Amazing the knowledge you have.

btw.... any cough syrup with dxm or dextromethorphan will work, but the dose at which it is truly effective is also close to that which can make you wonder when you bought "LSD."

You can also ask a pharmacist to dispense to you a liquid that contains enough codeine in it to suppress the "cough center" in the brain without sending you into flight.

The high dose G-Fed tabs also come with the guifenesen and dxm, and all three, depending on maker. The doc samples with guifenesen are generally so well dosed, that you'd need a case of OTC syrups to equal a single tablet.

When they are combined with the dxm, they actually do a good job.

You may remember a really bad tasting cough drop that came out in the mid-70s -- called "HOLD" -and they had an octagonal logo like a stop sign. That was when dxm hit the market. NOw that teens learned to melt those, the FDA says that dxm doesn't work, and it is getting harder and harder to find.

Funny how all the things the DEA / FDA say don't work, are often illegal for the very thing they say it doesn't do, eh?

In this case, it no longer works because it does more than just suppress tussive symptomology. You can listen to Sgt Pepper all over again like it was brand new at just the right dose.

I do remember the HOLD DXM losenges. They actually worked damn well, and the tube they were packaged in worked really well to carry them in.

yep--- a clear polyester tube, and a gold drop wrapped in foil.

God, they were nasty tasting..... but they did work.
