Interesting report on ABCNews' Nightline by Martin Bashir -- [abcnews.go.com]

... company will screen your DNA for risk factors, etc. Opens up all sorts of questions about privacy, use/misuse of the information, genetic determinism, etc. Is this the direction things are going?

Isn't is GATTACA? I don't think there are any I's in the code.

I would kind of like to get mine tested, just curious to see what kinds of problems I might be predisposed to.

My grandparents lived to 88, 93, 94, and 94. Hypertension was the only real genetic factor. That and a bit of Irish Whiskey every now and then. Dad died of Chrysler impact. Mom's still kicking butt in her mid 70's.

I had a simple test sponsored in part by the family history association. They are using DNA to help sort out the various lines.
