Anyone still using a LaCie Mini Ext Hard Drive & Hub?

I searched and found several old posts [forums.macresource.com]

From what I've found, the early versions of the 500GB drew complaints re fan noise.
I'm curious as eCost is selling REFURB 500GB for $119 {0.238/GB} & the 250GB for $85 {0.34/GB} .

btw, I've got a Mini Stack v2-250GB currently and it's fairly silent.

there's no such thing as too many hard drives tongue sticking out smiley

I have a 500GB one purchased Black Friday. It's terrific - I think we've only heard the fan noise a couple times in the past 3 months.
