returns at Apple Store?

If you buy a refurb from the Apple Store Online, can you return/exchange it to a B&M Apple Store?

They wouldn't let me return a Airport base station, they said they are on different billing and wouldn't do it.

I believe if you buy anything online you have to return it to the online store.

Apple Stores are for two things for me. Oohing and aahing at the pretty stuff and getting a hint or two from the "geniuses." Never do business there.
