The invasion has begun...my Roomba is self-aware

While I was eating breakfast this morning, my Roomba undocked and started cleaning on its own. Usually, and presumable by design, someone has to press the button on top. Not today though. I know that they make a model that will automatically turn on, but I don't have one of those. It was a bit unsettling.

A cluster of bees buzzing by our kitchen windows. I gingerly opened the slide windows to set them free. 10 minutes later a another cluster of 20 made a racket. I left the house at 3:30 P.M. Returned at 8:00 P.M. and there were dead bodies on the kitchen floor! My S/O thought it was hauntingly strange because this is a very old craftsman house, into which we have yet completely moved. Freckles didn't sense anything when he was roaming about.

SoCal for now.

In science fiction, the Three Laws of Robotics are a set of three rules written by Isaac Asimov, which almost all positronic robots appearing in his fiction must obey. Introduced in his 1942 short story "Runaround", although foreshadowed in a few earlier stories, the Laws state the following:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
2. A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

...that a hot lookin' Triple8 (or DD) that looks like a teenager comes back from the future to save our ass.

I want to be there to greet her when she arrives.
