So I just got a new MBP and Apple doesn't include the remote anymore. I don't know if I care, should I? Any use other than Front Row? Anyone use theirs?

My wife and I use it to control Front Row on her MacBook. We sometimes watch a movie during dinner.

I use the one OWC Jamie has much...as well as the Apple Remote (have several of them. lol).

We like to put the 17" incher at the foot of the bed sometimes and catch up on TV shows or movies when we are not at home.

Yep, use it with my AppleTV

Don't use it on my MBP, and have the command programmed into my universal remotes for my Mac mini which I use as a music server. So, no I don't use the actual Apple remote, just the remote codes.

I bought a Keyspan remote for my media center. Has a sleep button, and I can turn the remote off when not in use to save batteries.

The Apple remote is too simple - one too many features have been deleted.

Apple knows it, too - there have been recent patent applications released for new Apple remotes.

We'll see what the AppleTV Pro comes with.

I have a bunch of them, bloke on LEM was doing a 2 for $10 deal a few months back. Kid uses them for the iMac a lot, they are compatible with EyeTV.
