OK, I'm finally attempting to add a photo to my post...

...following the instructions you all were patiently giving me. So lets see if I did it right.

Looks like it worked! It's a fisherman I saw on the Susquehanna River.

Sort of. Use the sliders in Camera Raw or Lightroom. Since I shot it jpeg originally I did this in Lightroom. If you can convert to DNG then it will open in Camera Raw. PM me for the process.

Used Macresource hosting. Worked like a charm. Thanx again.

I have been doing a bit of full-fledged bracketed 32-bit hdr as of late (great for architecture), and I have been mimicking the look with existing non-bracketed images such as yours. Fun stuff, and a bunch of ways to simulate the hdr look.

The PS Shadow/Highlight adjustments in PS, along with funky sharpening can bring similar looks as well.

Camera raw is amazing. Never look back.

I've felt that using the Shadow/Highlight adjust to simulate HDR tends to block up the shadows but for a quick adjust it works well. Maybe I'm not doing it right.

High Dynamic Range. Here's an example (now that I know how to post it!):

It's in PS under File>Automate>Merge to HDR. This is the Curry Mansion B&B in Key West.

DP,

I'd like to know what the picture looked like before your PP technique. It's a nice picture to be sure.

All I ever really needed to know, I learned from watching Star Trek.

The Susquehanna, eh? Whereabouts?

Great pix and a swell place to kayak and fish.

Havre de Grace. My mother's home town. Unfortunately, we were there to spread her ashes on the river. Always have a camera with me, tho'.
