Must Have Blu Ray Discs?

Ok...so those who own Blu Ray players....what are the must have discs?

Right now I have 300, and I am getting I am Legend and Evil Dead II (must have). I know which movies I like, but apparently some of the initial releases arent that special.

Casino Royale, Spiderman 3, Ratatouille, Planet Earth are some of my Blu Ray favorites.

BTW, I just got my 5 freebies - after 3 months:
- Pirates of the Caribbean (sp?)
- Superman I
- Devil's Rejects
- The Patriot
- Species

A couple of those are likely ebay fodder, but oh well - they were free..

You are correct, all BD movies are not mastered equally and the first batch was especially spotty. They have already had to go back and remaster Fifth Element and Blade Runner because the first issue BDs were done so sloppily.

Check out Pirates of the Caribbean 2 (Dead Man's Chest) and 3:10 to Yuma. Target has a dozen or so titles B1G1 this week, including 3:10 to Yuma & Casino Royale.

"Alisha Klass Visits The Farm" is one that ought to be great as soon as they make it.

Might be under the "Red-Ray Format" though....

Is the new 5th Element out? Amazon has 5th Element for $14 and I was going to get it..should I wait?

All of the Resident Evil movies. Cuz zombies eating flesh needs to be in HD.

Both of the Underworld movies. See above, but substitute vampires or werewolves for zombies.

The Fifth Element (remastered). Just watched that one last night, Leelu is hot! See Resident Evil list for more hotness.

Enter the Dragon. This movie's video quality makes look like it was filmed last week, plus Bruce Lee is the man.

If SLM pops in here I'm sure he could give you some suggestions.

If I recall, one movie he says is great in BD is Layer Cake (mob flick starring the latest Bond, Craig).

Is the Simpsons movie really any better in BD than DVD?

Correct about Fifth Element[/i[ -- absolutely wrong about Blade Runner. BR was released on BD for the first time only a couple of months ago, and by ALL accounts PQ is outstanding.

There was another BD disc released besides FE that was remastered and re-released (the name of which escapes me now) -- perhaps that is the movie you're thinking of.

It is what it is.

Full Metal Jacket was redone, those are the only ones I know of.
