OT: What Do You Consider Too Early?
Posted by: Jack D.

So I'm up at 4:30 and it's 34 degrees out. At 7:30 I'm out at the grill doing my Chinese red ribs on the grill that have been marinating for two days. The problem is that when I grill I usually have a tall cool one in front of me.... So now I'm grilling and sucking on a vodka tonic because....welll I'm not sure why but I am. This is not a usual occurance but I have the dogs out, the birds are singing, spring is near, the wifes sleeping and it just seems right. smiling smiley

Maybe I should plug in the Lava lamp and pray to Yahwe?? I dunno.... but the ribs taste pretty damn good for breakfast!

I think I will just put an OUT OF ORDER

Let me try that again. I tried to add an animated gif and it didn't work.

You are nuts. smileys with beer

What is wrong? Clicking on the Smileys above the posting box shows the gifs, but selecting one only gets you the keyboard equivalent. What am I doing wrong?

Yes. It is WAY too early.

For a vodka tonic, that is. Now if you had said you were enjoying a Bloody Mary, a screwdriver or a mimosa I'd say you are right on time! smiling smiley

Grilling at 7:30 sounds great, and with the result being ribs for breakfast, what more could you want? If a side-effect of grilling is the requirement for an ice-cold alcoholic beverage, then why not?

cheers

I was up pretty early today, too, but no booze here. Man, if I drank that early in the morning, I'd be napping by 9:30am. I agree with the mimosa, maybe if I'm at a nice brunch somewhere...I just finished a run, so maybe I will have that drink...

Bloody Mary New Orleans style with some Eggs Benedict version from the Grill. Have a New Orleans style Brunch ready for the wife when she wakes up.

Wish some of you folks lived in my neighborhood and slipped your address. Honestly I am not that bad and eating ribs would stop me from talking. Talk a little baseball, hoops and what Kristin would be worth for what. Living Large.

Dmann I figured you for an Old Style.

generally, I don't drink before noon. Unless...there are 2 exceptions.

On a multi-day bender with kegs involved, we have far more beer on board than fresh water. The water is reserved for coffee (with baily's, creme de cocoa and/or creme de menthe) So beer when it is already 80 out when I get out of bed, or...

On a multiple day bender and I can't stomach any beer that early, I make a sledgehammer. That's vodka and orange gatorade. Or a Scouter's punch, which is fruit punch gatorade and rum.

6 more weeks!!!!!!!!

Yes, up at 4:30 and out at 7:30 is way too early. I would need a drink to deal with that.

Early tee times make early cocktails mandatory.

It's never too early if you started the night before.
