How to archive software that's bundled with Macs?

So after erasing my OS X partition the other day, I'm reinstalling. I would like to keep the install as light as possible. I installed from a 10.5.0 retail disc. Now I am installing the bundled software that came with the machine. If I choose not to install GarageBand & iDVD, I save nearly 7GB of space with their associated files (sounds 'n stuff.) I would like to archive these installers online so if I'm on the road and I want them I can download them.

I've browsed the install DVD and can't figure out how to grab the installers for individual apps. Anyone know of a way to do this?

Pacifist.

EDIT: more info

Pacifist is a small program that opens up .pkg installer packages and lets you install individual files out of them. This is useful if you need to install just one file out of a package instead of the entire package (for example, if you deleted your Preview application and need to reinstall it, but not the whole operating system), if you experience bugs in Installer.app that mess up your symbolic links, or if you just like a little more control over the installation process. Pacifist can also examine the kernel extensions installed in your system to let you see what installer installed them, and whether the installer was made by Apple or a third-party.

With TinkerTool or similar, restart the Finder to show invisibles. At that point you'll see everything on the DVD. Drill around until you find the individual installers. They will be package files inside of another package file, I believe.

Perseverance is key. [Edit: and like the man said, so is Pacifist.)

I used the Terminal to find the exact location of the .pkg files, but it's apparent not all the data is in there. I'll give Pacifist a try.

Oh joy, I just searched for Disc 2 and can't find it sad smiley
