I've got a Sarotech firewire/usb drive case that came with a 40 gig drive in it, bought it about five years ago or so, works good.


I was wondering if drives can be swapped into these things loosely..like putting a 250 gig drive into this puppy? Can you?

Also, are these Sarotech cases, decent products??..They seem to have decent prices and this one has been fine

if its that old its unlikely to work with a drive larger than 127GB.

So, anyone know about the general quality of Sarotech enclosures for a new purchase?

just curious because Im shopping for a couple of larger capacity firewire boxes

they are middle of the road

for some great quality enclosures, click the "firewire" tab on the top of this page

if you just want cheap -- try newegg, pcmicrostore, ebay or any number of other sites that sell enclosures

and get firewire or a firewire/usb combo

it really depends upon what you're looking for.

i'm quite happy with the macally cases i bought.
