I remember a similar story about a football player getting to run down the field through the defense and make a touchdown during the last game of the season.

I wish schools would start a tradition of letting specail people get their big moment during the last game every year. I'm sure the defense wouldn't mind because every school would play along at one time or another. Just think how much happiness that one little moment would bring to so many people.

My sister wouldn't be pleased by this story. She's a big time advocate for disabled people and her first thought would be, "why wasn't he on the team?" She's always surprising me...

Wow...he was NOT a mascot for the team. Just fyi.

Dennis...the football story, and similar of...are just what you said. This basketball 'story' is incredible, because he definitely, 100% made those 3-pointers on his own. No help...nothing from the defense. You can easily see that, as well. Even if they did let him shoot intentionally unguarded (which they did not), he still has to make the shots.

I bet the joke in town is asking the coach why he didn't play him sooner.

The sad joke is that they are now beginning playoffs and he is back on the bench in his shirt and tie.
