Aaargh ! When coworker turns into PhB

I hate software design. I came up with an elegant set of solutions to a complex problem, and the 'expert' in this area (I'm the junior guy) pooh poohed it, told me to 'think about it'. So I did, and came up with an easier (and equally elegant) approach.

Nope.

He just wants me to slap some duct tape onto it.

My head is ready to explode. I'm so tired of his 'you're dumb so just do what I tell you' approach. And what's worse is I have to apply his solution or he'll screw with my life. again.

Waah. Need beer. Lots of beer.

Got any details? I was working with a designer who felt it was okay to do all logos in Photoshop and not create a vector version. He thought a PSD was fine and if we needed higher res, he could just upsample the original work so it was higher res. There are a lot of reasons for not doing it that way, and I tried to tell him some but he wouldn't listen.

He doesn't work on that project anymore.

Sounds like one of the many reasons I'm not doing graphic design for a living anymore.

Did you learn anything or gain any insights from the first instance where he had you go back and rethink your first solution? You said you managed go come up with an easier, but still elegant solution. Maybe he at least gets a half point for that.
