Mini-Me Sex Tape Spawns Lawsuit
Verne Troyer is suing TMZ for $20 million

. . . Verne Troyer is hopping mad at the release of parts of his sex tape.

According to TMZ.com Troyer filed suit against TMZ.com. . .alleging that the website violated his privacy rights and infringed on his copyright and trademark by running stills and video from a sex tape online.

In the suit, filed Thursday (July 26) in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, Troyer claims that the tape was stolen. Kevin Blatt, who secured the tape and was reportedly planning to distribute it, is also named as a defendant. Troyer claims that cease-and-desist letters were sent to TMZ before and after the site broke the story and were, apparently, ignored.

Troyer is asking for $20 million in damages -- more than the actor's new film, "The Love Guru," made in its first weekend of release -- and an injunction preventing additional dissemination of the video.

As of Friday morning, the footage from the sex tape was still up on TMZ. . .

OK, so nowhere is there any explanation of how the tape got out, or how it was "stolen".
Seems fishy to me.

And-- curious-- how do most folks here deal with securing their sex tapes? Do you guys keep your sex tapes in a safe, or hide them somewhere?

why do people always steal them, but are never charged with THEFT - just sued over "who owns them" - and always before the release of a new show, film,song, etc????
