laptop stand suggestions, again ...

I bought a Belkin Cushtop. [catalog.belkin.com] It's sturdy and light.

I use it with a 2.2 MBP.

The Cushtop allows zero circulation beneath the laptop, which gets hot enough to run the fan (on low.) The top gets quite warm. The thin strip of aluminum above the keyboard, below the screen hinge is too hot to touch for long. The underside of the laptop near that same area is hotter yet.

At work, on my desk. I prop up the MBP with a Softalk phone receiver shoulder rest for the same reason.

Don't laugh, it works.

Anyone have one of these? [www.myplaceworkstation.com]
It caught my eye at Bed Bath and Beyond earlier this week.

Continued proof that 'laptops' aren't for the lap.

The mstand is a little pricey, but if you don't need portability, it's the slickest thing going.

There are a lot of USB cooling stands (a couple of fans built in) but they tend to look cheap. I have no idea how well they work.

Built my own out of PVC and Can Bandz 4 years ago.
Using it now, in bed.
