I watched it a couple of weeks ago & thought it was an amazing movie, on many levels. I don't ever need to see it again.

Pair it up with Magnolia for a truly depressing double feature.

It is what it is.

I can always get a good laugh there, by the way, when I post my Birthday greetings, that's where they come from, although sometimes I have to change the words a bit.

I liked Monster a lot. Theron earned that Oscar IMO.

Magnolia was 2+ hours and a total ripoff of Altman's Short Cuts; P.T. Anderson just replaced the earthquake with raining frogs. Whateeeeeeva!

Unless you stopped watching before the end, it was three hours, not two.

Magnolia is a great movie, one of my favorites -- but there's no getting around the fact that it's depressing as hell. Three solid hours of sheer despair.

Dear wurm:

"Monster" is about Aileen Wournos, the executed female serial killer and how she got that way. To complain about it being "depressing" is like saying you thought "The Seventh Seal" was about marine life.

What exactly did you EXPECT "Monster" to be -- funny?
