Any Verizon DSL + Windows XP users? Need help for relative
Posted by: zero

My relative has a Win XP computer, with Verizon DSL. Does anyone know how to disable the Verizon firewall?

I would need simple, step-by-step directions to help guide them through this process.

TIA!

why did they install verizon software in the first place? just set up the modem with PPPoE username and password and then install the firewall/antivirus of your choice, not what they throw at you.

I'd call Verizon tech support. I have had good experience with them. Well, at least on the Mac side.

SoCal for now.

Actually, I think Verizon has started using Open PPPoE on DSL and FIOS. So ever easier to set up now.
