I'm not sure you'll find it for any less than the pretty standard academic discounts for educators. I paid $150 for the Mac Office 2004 and think that's a pretty good deal.

Of course, I grabbed it a month before I retired from teaching to keep my ethical blackboard clean smiling smiley

Amazon "sometimes" has the Mac version for $99, but I have never looked at the PC version.

Have you tried Froogle?

What school? I get it for $5 (Office '04) here at my University. Check and see if the school has a partnership with Microsoft.

I've seen it occasionally cheaper at Costco.

Also, how about free StarOffice 8 software? Would Calc work instead of Excel? [www.sun.com]

Open Office gets a lot of praise and it is free.
