"Dumped Electrical Goods: A Giant Problem
This year we will discard 100 million TVs, computers, stereos and mobile phones as we're seduced by ever newer models. They could all be recycled - so why aren't they?"

I have a bunch of old Macs (7200s and such) that I will dump before July 1 because after then computers must be recycled. I can dump them now for $1 but likely it will cost $15 after July 1.

I still use my old Macs--two Performa 575's used every day. Gotta be able to turn off 32 bit processing for a critical program.

I'm thrilled that my town (in spite of it's many other gov't shortcomings) has added electronics recycling to it's drop spot.
There's a trailer full of stuff there now.
