r/r for the power cord - the "male" end

I must replace the male end of my ibook power cord, as it is fraying. But how/where does it pull apart?

it's this type:

I believe the technical term is "No user serviceable parts inside." Mine looks like it's molded together. I can't see any way to open it without destroying it. Find a dead power block and cut'n'splice? An Apple store might have some laying around. Good luck!

Someone posted a replacement end for the coaxial part in the last week, didn't light up though.
