"Mardi Gras: Made in China" on the Sundance Channel

If you left coasters are interested, the documentary Mardi Gras: Made in China is showing tonight on the Sundance Channel at 7:30 PM. Unfortunately it has already aired on the east coast, and I don't know when it will be on again.

I have seen part of this before, and swore if I had a chance I would record the whole thing if it came on again. I really think it is worth watching. Highly recommended.

Seconded.

I saw this last year at the Florida Film Festival and went in thinking I wasn't going to enjoy it (I watch a LOT of documentaries and other movies; I make part of my living as a film critic).

Despite the poor production values, the first two Rule of Documentary Filmmaking were followed faithfully: a) bring up a fascinating topic and b) use the stories from the people to show both sides.

I don't want to give too much away, but hopefully the following will intrigue you:

Ever wondered where all those "beads" for Mardi Gras come from?

The answer WILL surprise you. I guarantee it.
