Yeah, no thanks for me, too.

It's too bad they didn't show their teeth. We have a guy at work that I'm fairly sure is using Meth, you should see his teeth,
they look just like some of the images below.

;) Yep. LOL.

Those faces of meth that Dennis posted were quite startling. Combine that with meth mouth and the complete destruction of your life, and well, I just don't feel any kind of urge to try it.

I went through drug rehab with a couple of different clients (as their interpreter) several years ago, and got an up close and personal look at meth addicts and their shattered lives. Very, very sad.

I've never had the urge to try any kind of drugs like that. I
used to do demo tapes for bands and go to a lot of rock
concerts and the pot was always free flowing. They knew I
wasn't into that scene and they were cool with it. That's why
I guess I don't understand it when kids say it's peer pressure
that made them do it. I always say "Just Say No", no
one is going to crucify you for saying no. I did my share of
drinking in my younger days but that's as far as it went and
even then I knew my limit.

It seems to me that there would be
serious money in a closed loop
high pressure, yet extremely portable,
hydrogenation unit for this crowd.

Hmmmm.... I wonder if there is an
invention waiting to happen for that?

I guess I'd have to think of some
other use first. Not like Pfizer
would need a small, tow behind the
car unit for any of their sites.....

This could even be better than my other idea
for the drug world -- The Cocaine Tampon!
(I haven't received anything but grief
with the DEA and the Patent Office over
that idea. Too obvious, I guess.)

Honestly, the after shots looked mostly like bad hair days and some skin blemishes. Don't get me wrong, I think meth and many other drugs (including alcohol and tobacco) are youth and society destruction agents, but those photos didn't do anything.

Part of an informational brochure at my doctor's office/Commmunity center in Chelsea. Let's just say that my straight female personality was not part of the target audience for this particular PSA...

We must have different ideas about what exactly constitutes a "bad hair day"...

Great site.

The mood swings and unpredictable behavior of the tween and teen years often make it hard to tell if a child is using drugs — but there are warning signs you can watch out for. If your child exhibits one or more of the following behaviors or moods, drugs may have become a part of his or her life:

* She's withdrawn, depressed, tired, or careless about her personal grooming.
* He's hostile, uncooperative, and frequently breaks curfews.
* Her relationships with family members have deteriorated.
* He's hanging around with a new group of friends.
* Her grades have slipped, and her school attendance is irregular.
* He's lost interest in hobbies, sports, and other favorite activities.
* Her eating and sleeping patterns have changed; she's up at night and sleeps during the day.
* He has a hard time concentrating.
* Her eyes are red-rimmed and her nose is runny — but she doesn't have allergies or a cold.
* Household money has been disappearing.
* You have found any of the following in your home: pipes, rolling papers, small medicine bottles, eye drops, butane lighters, homemade pipes, or bongs (pipes that use water as a filter) made from soda cans or plastic beverage containers.
Soda cans and plastic beverage containers? Those people totally lack imagination. I knew a guy in college who made a bong out of tinfoil in the shape of an origami bird.

BTW: Check out this quiz...

If you answer "Often" or "Sometimes" to any one of the questions, your kid is "high risk" for problems with drugs or alcohol.

Those questions include whether you ever notice that your kid is "careless with grooming," lost interest in sports, or "makes excuses for not being able to attend family events or outings."

Little did I know that I was putting myself at risk when I ducked out of visits to my grandma. I thought it was because her apartment stank of mothballs and it made me ill, but it turns out that I was an addict and I didn't even know it!

Sheesh! What benefits do they reap from convincing gullible parents that their kids are drug addicts?

Apparently I, too, was an unwitting addict as a teenager.

If you exclude the last three items in the list, the symptoms sound like signs of depression, not addiction.

So what's the scientific reason that using meth makes your face all scabby?

Meth tends to cause minor breakouts, like acne and it also enhances the perceived pain and itchiness of otherwise minor irritations. Add to that the twitchy nervous scratching that many addicts develop and poor circulation and depressed immune-response from the drugs and you've got a recipe for nasty scars.

Also, a lot of addicts share needles and don't have protected sex, so presumably some of it is from AIDS.

Not to mention a serious cranker's diet lacks nutrition.

I shot some pictures of Cream at Winterland a few year ago. OK, more than a few years ago.

I was shooting from the floor at the stage, so the up angle was a little steep. As a result, a lot of pics showed Ginger Baker with his head back, mouth open.

He made Keith Richards look like a chubby faced cherub. It wasn't noticeable (or maybe just noticed) at the concert, but looking at the B&W 8x10s (no color, no circles and arrows, or paragraph on the back) he looked like death, not even warmed over.

Gaunt face, bad complexion, bad teeth. It had to be crystal.

It couldn't be the UK health care system.
