Argh. Capital One sucks. Other business cards with 0% balance transfers?

I've got a balance on one card and I figured I should get another with at least a 0% introductory transfer option. Applied for a Capital One card as it was one of the few we found that didn't have a bit in the terms about "rate may change at anytime for any reason, even if you follow all our rules."

But when we received the card, transfers were noted at 0% but 15%. So we called, twice, and got the run around about none of their cards offering that. We pointed out that even their web site shows their cards offer this, and they told us the one we signed up for didn't.

Typically I print PDFs of all the terms when I sign up for something online. This time we didn't.

What really irks me is they tell me that none of their cards offer this, but on their web site they state the card we applied for does offer 0% transfers.

So what other cards are there out there that offer low rate transfers and don't have a clause about the rates changing at anytime for any reason? It's an Amex card I'm transferring from, so it can't be an Amex card.

Yes, but they're one of the banks that will change the rate at anytime without cause.

Even if the rate is 0%, you can bet they'll charge some kind of ridiculous "Transfer fee"…

There's no free lunch when it comes to lending money. Just lots of smoke and mirrors. Legalized thievery.

some transfer fees are up to 3%, and some don't have a cap. But others cap at $75. And for some, that is about 40 days of interest. Just don't be late and always make the minimum payment. (this card can't change the rate unless I make 2 late payments to them in a row, and anything that happens to my credit rating won't effect the rate either)

I'm working off a huge card at 2.9% until paid off. (this card can't change the rate unless I make 2 late payments to them in a row, and anything that happens to my credit rating won't effect the rate either)

Hey Racer, which card is that w/the no fee transfer? And if you can check to see if it's 6 or 12 month @ 0%, (and maybe post their phone # if they list it) that would be helpful.

Here's a WaMu ESPN no xfer fee card, offering 0% for 6mo on purchs & xfers:

Those no cap 3% transfer fees are killers.

But it's not a business card (so I didn't bother to read the fine print about the rate changing at their will.)

CapitalOne lost my business seven years ago and will never get it back. Stay away -- they are poison.

It is what it is.
