It's not anymore offensive than a lot of other webcomics out there. However, the publisher agreed to Apple's TOS when they accepted the terms of the Devleoper's SDK. Apple's decision may be a little harsh but it is within the TOS. The publisher COULD have made a better choice if they were only submitting one strip with the app. Perhaps they shouldn't have included any strip and then "Murderdrome" could have been the user's choice and Apple wouldn't have been the wiser.

It's not a matter of Apple being "the wiser".

And the author knew better.

By Wednesday morning, the post had drawn dozens of responses — all sharply critical of Apple — and PJ Holden’s cause had been picked up by half-dozen sympathetic bloggers (see Techmeme).

Is there anyone out there who doesn't think it's ridiculous when a "journalist" tries to present an internet discussion as some sort of firestorm?

The article is a joke.

"... firestorm ensues"

"... Murderdrome has now joined the pantheon of suppressed fiction"

"By Wednesday morning, the post had drawn dozens of responses..."

".... had been picked up by half-dozen sympathetic bloggers..."

A "firestorm" with "dozens" of comments and picked up by six bloggers. I could create a bigger fuss by posting a thread about seeing Steve Jobs with a bloody nose. I love how they proclaim that Apple has taken on the role of "Internet censor". And "suppressed fiction"? Good golly Miss Molly, what a load. How much of a chowderhead do you have to be not to understand that deciding not to sell a product in your business is neither suppression nor censorship?

Apple will probably soon enough start using a rating system for e-books like they do for other types of work and once again manage to rise above the dark cloud of fascism. eye rolling smiley

It almost looks like they did it on purpose to generate hype to sell a crappy series. The art looks nice but the storyline sounds like a 11 year old wrote it, after a quick look.
