Fat Loss for Idiots

Has anyone heard of an online diet called "Fat Loss for Idiots"? Do you know anything about it, does it work or is it a scam? Wife wants to spend $38 for it, supposedly a one time charge. While on the subject of weight loss, does anyone need some Atkins diet books? She doesn't want them any more.

Well - you'd definitely be an idiot if you sent in $38 dollars to be told to eat less and start exercising.

Diet alone won't do it...unless she starves herself, which isn't worth $38 for. There's no secret to weight loss. Just check what the macresource experts have to say: [forums.macresource.com]

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

When I left the usa last year i was most corpulent.
Via a healthy diet , fish, chicken , fruits, veggies, brown rice, daily smoothies of bananas mango and pineapple made at home and ... exercise /walking 8 to12 miles a day.... I dropped over 30 lbs.

Others may do it differently...

Fat Loss for Idiots:

1. STOP EATING

2. THE END

But actually, sometimes people need motivation to get started exercising or dieting, the kind of motivation that comes in a book. I think we all know the basics of reducing calorie intake and increasing calorie usage through exercise, but some of us just need an authoritative source to tell us that before we can do it on our own.

Did you ever get so fat that you had to wear your pants lower on your waist? And then your pants are looser, and you trick yourself into thinking that you have lost weight?

"I've eaten through to the other side!"

Unfortunately, that motivation tends to wear off much faster than the weight drops off. Then you get discouraged and where do you turn for comfort?

Get a couple of dogs that need walking. I lost 80lbs 3 years ago by watching my diet and walking 5 miles a day with the dogs. Sure the loaded gun that was held to my head (diabetes and blood clot) helped with the motivation but I've managed to keep over 60lbs of that off and I'm working at it again.

I follow the Abs Diet by Zincenko (sp?) It's an easy diet that allows you to eat lots of food. The pounds come off easily at first. I've lost 35 pounds doing it. Like Jack D, diabetes was a good motivator. It should be as easy to motivate that if you are overweight for long enough that you will proably get diabetese, but I guess it isn't.

Yep, eat less and exercise more. No junk food and combine weight training with cardio. Kind of simple but in our toxic fast food & "hand me the remote" society it does take self discipline. The bright side is once you start it gets easier.

A key for me is I don't keep junk food in my house (It if it isn't there I can't eat it!) and I have a home gym that's hard to ignore once I get home from work. For cardio I bicycle on the beach here in Long Beach CA.

Good luck,

D & C

For many and me included, finding the time in the day to exercise can be rough, so eating better is a definite good start. And, eating better is certainly one way to begin, versus just eating less of bad food. Start by assessing your nutritional intake and changing your diet as necessary and then cutting back on those replacement healthier foods ( you'll feel less hungry from good food than junky foods, too). Then, I would begin exercise slowly but with a continuous regimen.

One last bit of advice-

Drink water.

People consume hundreds of calories a day from drinks alone. Fruit juice, soda, sports drinks, beer, almost everything has a lot of calories in it. Water is not only the best thing for your body but it is often the cheapest if not free choice out there. Save money and lose weight. If nothing else, by switching to water you can give yourself a bit of leeway with other foods. Say for example you have water instead of soda at a restaurant- you just saved like 200 calories, that gives you a 200 calorie "allowance" for dessert if you can't help yourself later on.
