The way the titles are formatted is terrible!

Has anybody figured out a quick fix for the title info and the ID 3 tags???

I've been looking into writing an Applescript but haven't had the time to get too deep yet...

[www.three-2-one.com]

MP3 ID3X has "batch tag by folder structure" option. however, it's not free.

Yes, that's easier than doing it in iTunes, but you still would have to manually manipulate hundreds of files...

MP3 ID3X has 'batch' processing - you can run it on a whole folder of files.

maybe there's a free iTunes script?

Yes, you can run it on a whole folder of files, but what would you tell it to do? Every file currently has all the info in the title tag. How would you tell MP3 IDX how all that data should be split between artist, title, genre, comments, etc.? Unless there is a script that can split the info based on a delimiter of some kind (the underscore in the original tag might work) AND each file's current title tag has the same number of fields as defined by that delimiter, there's no way to do this other than manually.

Well, that's a start;

"This script will rename the selected tracks in iTunes with their filenames (minus the extension."

That means that typically you will now have

DREAMALITTLEDREAMOFME_LouieArmstrongEllaFitzgeraldSyOliver_DECCA_27209_Swingin

in the Title field. Not much of a help, but maybe I can use that code as the basis for splitting things up by the underscore delimiter.
