It is Season 1, these will be the first three episodes, with info:
Rose, & The End of the World will be shown on Friday the 17th.
Just a note, doesn't The End of The World episode sound strangely familiar? Gnab Gib?

Meet the new Doctor and his companion Rose as, together, they set out across space and time in a series of exhilarating adventures and deadly confrontations.

Rose
When Rose Tyler meets a mysterious stranger called the Doctor, her life will never be the same again. Soon, she realises that her mum, her boyfriend, and the whole of Planet Earth are in danger. The only hope for salvation lies inside a strange blue box...

The End Of The World
The Doctor takes Rose on her first voyage through time, to the year Five Billion. The Sun is about to expand, and swallow the Earth. But amongst the alien races gathering to watch on Platform One, a murderer is at work. Who is controlling the mysterious and deadly Spiders?

The Unquiet Dead
The Doctor takes Rose back through time to 1869. But in Victorian Cardiff, the dead are walking, and creatures made of gas are on the loose. The time-travellers team up with Charles Dickens to investigate Mr Sneed, the local Undertaker. Can they halt the plans of the ethereal Gelth?

I've just got one question...do the daleks return?

I grew up (in England) watching Doctor Who from the very first episode back in the early '60s. That show scared the living daylights out of me on a weekly basis. The first appearance of the utterly amoral daleks was incredibly frightening. They were like the borg, only worse!

(no spoilers)

I should mention that in Episode 2, the use of the term "billion" refers to the "outside the US" definition of the word "billion," meaning 100 million (in the US, a billion is 1000 million).

So for US watchers, it's not the year 5 Billion, it's the year 500 million.

PS. Apple fans will get a couple of nice kicks out of that episode. smiling smiley

PPS. The whole season -- seriously -- kicks mighty mighty ass. So much ass that even Chuck Norris is watching. It's amazing -- check it out and stay with it.

Yes, BUT... the first time they come in the Doctor gets kind of un-doctorish about the whole thing and the thing at the end is completely un-Dalek-like and it kinda pissed me off. It's very remiscent of the writing in their last appearances in the old series when they were trying to compete with the Power Rangers instead of getting along in the business of making Doctor Who episodes. They fell into the trap of trying to compete with generic modern sci-fi shows by being just like them.

But the Dalek was cool.

Their second return was pure stupidity. Again, they acted without any of that Dalek-like "exterminate and get on with conquering the universe" attitude. And literally, there was a deus ex machina twist right out of the end of the awful American movie.

The fundamental problem is that the Daleks were there just to have the Daleks there. The stories they came up with just didn't make much sense. But the Daleks were really cool-looking and could go up stairs.

What's sad is that right up until the end of the season, I could see the writing getting a little bit better and Eccleston becoming more comfortable in the role... so then they introduced the new Doctor and it looks like we have to go through all of this discomfort while he struggles to define the role again.

Nope, you've got it backwards. The european billion is a million million (1,000,000,000,000). So, for americans it would be the year 5,000 billion.

A British billion is a thousand times bigger than an American billion.
