There are going to be more slide shows like that. One of the networks was broadcasting from a highway that looked like a boat salvage yard. I think it was a half mile from the ocean.

It's amazing how people shopping for "beach front" property tend to forget the "last" hurricane... and are surprised by the "next" hurricane.

I have more sympathy for people the further inland they live in a hurricane zone.

Winds that high break stuff as surely as a 8.0+ earthquake breaks stuff. And when wind that strong is pushing 8 to 10 feet of water; watch out.

Wow,that's crazy...great images..intense storm. Hope those folks get back on their feet again soon.

I'd seen some of those earlier but not in that size or clarity.

The two little tikes look like they made it fine to me.

Oh, you mean the link??? Right, WOW! Most amazing photo is the one with the intact house surrounded by debris. Not even a shingle is missing.

Great photos, and my prayers are with the Texas folks for sure... my organization is already helping out.
