Cast question which has nothing to do with movies, stage or TV.

Let's say you broke your ankle and have to wear a cast (knee high) for a month. It's winter and you can't wear shorts everywhere. You're willing to destroy a pair of jeans by cutting up the seam of the leg as far as necessary, but you don't want to have to do this to all your jeans.

What do you wear out of the house? Do you keep wearing the same cut jeans as your "cast" pair or do you cut another and rotate between them? Do you wear sweatpants everywhere? Can you buy pants that have a zipper up the side of the leg (or could that be an untapped and possible lucrative market)?

I sacrificed one pair of jeans when my ankle was broken. I also mixed in some sweats.

Male.

And are these ski pants or track suits pants available in normal colors or are they likely to have racing stripes and lightning bolts, etc.? Can I get them at someplace like Target?

Forget the kilt. There will be no wurm trolling. Wait. That came out wrong. Besides, while I do have nice legs, it's still too dang cold.

You can split your jeans up the seam and use a safety pin to hold it together then re-sew the seam when you get the cast off.

Here's one link to zippered track pants.

Here are some Target pants that have zip off legs. You could zip off just one when it is warm enough.

Target should also have some zippered track pants at the stores. Good luck.

Go to Goodwill and buy a couple of pairs of jeans and/or pants and rip the seams on them.

Thanks, all. It looks like I'll cut a couple pair of older jeans. I'm not particularly keen on the nylon with the stripes. The zip off leg pants might be okay, but for the exposed several inches around the knee.

I agree with jesse. That's what my friends have done - split the pants leg and use safety pins to hold the pants leg together above the cast.

Now, if you were a girl, you could wear almost anything and hide it under a skirt.
