saw those up last night, too.
the 17in white imac for $699 made a surprise return (still there now)

almost like a mac mini with a 17in LCD, except the RAM is far easier to replace.

Apple has been selling those 17" iMacs to the EDU market en mass since they discontinued them. I saw a couple dozen brand new 17" models a month ago at a school.
