An amazing artist.

I only ran across him comapritvely recently when I saw his work reference and played in a Spanish movie.

Hearing blues done so well in a foreign language was really impressive.

all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

Thanks for the post, Seacrest. His is a name I've heard for years, but I didn't really know anything about him (in fact, I wasn't even sure if he was a musician). The obit. was really enlightening.

I'm now at the iTMS listening to his tracks.

Yep, big loss in the African music scene. Never got to see him, but his music is amazing. The roots of the blues ARE from Africa.
