Tonight's Beer is...

Dunkelweizen!

Had a pilsner at lunch.

Dinner was pork steak in hunter's sauce. Dunkelweizen is an excellent dark wheat beer that goes nicely with any meal.

I am in Heidelberg for the weekend. German folks are really nice people. When you ask them if they speak english, they say "a little". Then they engage you in conversation quite easily for several minutes. I would say "a little" is quite an understatement.

Lunch tomorrow will most likely be brats with some Schwaben Bräu.

Business or pleasure? If it's business I hope there is pleasure as well! Have fun.

Just a short holiday voodoopenguin. My daughter is running in a cross country race, so we hopped on a Ryanair flight to be here and cheer her on. We are having a great time so far. This is my second visit to Heidelberg, it really is a beautiful time of year to be here.

P.S. I did borrow your "tonight's beer" topic, but I thought it appropriate.

I enjoy beer, but I've NEVER been able to drink it with food. Unless I was fall down drunk. But i don't really do that anymore. I just cannot drink beer with a meal.

Japanese beer goes great with sushi! I like a Singha with Thai food or a Pacifico with my tacos. Otherwise I tend to prefer wine with my meals and drink beer on its own.

Singha is an excellent Thai lager. The local Thai place makes money when I come in for spicy Thai because I need a few beers to cool off.
