URGENT: Need Some eBay Advice Quick!

There is about a $250 phone going for sale on eBay for $100.

The listing simply says "This is for an unlocked **************** Phone, used with normal wear and tear".

The shipping is about $4/.

They have 19 feedbacks, 82.9% good.
Out of eight buyers, 3 were negative.

"Deadbeat seller, Kept money for 3 weeks and never sent the item. Suspend This kid!
Poor packaging, steal my FC insurance $400. He's <18, parents malicious lawyer
The item doesn't work. No reply to emails & phone messages. Very bad experience.

So, should I click the buy it now button? It's a great phone for a great price.

TiA!!!

EDIT:

THe bad feedbacks are from a yser with a 1 or a 6. The last one is from a person with a 392 feedback rating.

Just because it has two clutches, shifts faster, uses a torque converter or has near-infinite gear ratios, requires less driver intervention and is more efficient doesn't make it better in my opinion.

It's a beat-up used phone from a bad seller. Don't bid on it.

Stay away from that deal Mr. 'Chip...you're doing nothing but looking for trouble dealing with someone like that. Of course it's too good to pass up, which is why you're checking it out. Just let it go and find another phone.

The fact that someone else bought it is far from being evidence YOU should have.

I've bought used phones several times, never had a problem

That one in particular, I would probably replace the housing anyway.

No, you have to be 18 to register an account on eBay.

Chip, check the seller's feedback as a seller, not as a buyer. It is not good, particularly lately.

Don't sweat it...
For every "deal" like that that you might have gotten boned on... keep looking and you'll find one from a seller that's not going to screw you.

I'd never bid on a seller with less than 98%, usually at least 99%.
But more importantly, my rule is that I never bid on anything I don't have an immediate use for.
YMMV, especially if you're Richie Rich.

I suffer from the same sensitivity that you do. A few nuggets of wisdom were shared with me and I'm "trying" to incorporate them into my life. First, remember that nobody can hurt your feelings unless you let them. You can always reject what is being forced on you emotionally.
Second, nothing changes unless you change it. If you don't want the behavior to be repeated then you need to take action. Otherwise the kid has learned that his behavior is the way to get things done, because everyone lets him get away with it.
In the meantime I sympathize because I've been there.

Chip that was a sweet deal. Especially with your knowledge of cell phones (replace covers).

If it was a Mac, I would say no but on eBay, most cell phones are a BUYERS MARKET!

Any idiot with money to burn can own a cell phone and try and flip it on ebay for pocket change. High end "Hot Phones" go for a Premium, but others are sold for pennies on the dollar.

He may have went to one of those Trade Your Phone 4 Cash sites, saw they would give him $50 and figured eBay buy it now at $100 would be coming out ahead.

A friend of mine actually makes money buying Nokia phones on eBay and reselling them at a higher price.

You didn't need it, but you could have flipped that one back on ebay with real pics and a real description for a tidy profit.

Sorry I couldn't chime in sooner.

Oh well.

Actually, I found a nokia 6230 for $100 and $15 shipping.

It'd work just fine for me, and $100 isn't too bad.

Trying to decide if I should go for it.

A second look at his feedback, it seems that you may have had a little wait or have a problem getting it. I would have stalled also.

If you had a $100 to gamble, that would have been a deal.

I'd say worth the risk still.

Chip set-up a custom search in My eBay for the models you are looking for. You may have to do some fine tuning to eliminate the accessories...

-(faceplate, charger, face, cover)

When new items are posted, you get a daily e-mail usually at night.

Find a newly listed Buy It Now at the right price and do some feedback checks and go for it.

I do that with several items that I am looking for but not in a hurry to get.

I've been checking the newly listed.

Found what I've been looking for.

I'm gonna get that nokia 6230 for $100.
Sure the screens a little on the small side, but I'll live.
