I make a good porter

Our little brew club in Yakima will be having a tasting competition this month and the style is porter. Not one of my favorites but I did some research and discovered I enjoy Fullers Porter. From there I found a clone recipe and made my own. The result is a dark beer with an ample brown head, the flavor is creamy with hints of chocolate and coffee. Very easy to drink. I would call it a mild porter.

I'm hoping to compete well in the competition and I'll post back with the results after the 16th.

OK, you're on. I could use a good porter. Anytime you want you can carry my bags.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

If there is free beer involved you must post a location and time of the event.

If you are coming to Yakima you are invited to stop at my house for a sample anytime. I keep two beers on tap at all times and the humidor is full of cigars.

Yakima eh? That's a ways from DC isn't it. I'll be out to Seattle/Victoria in June for my honeymoon, not sure if there will be time for drinkin' with the MR-forum crew.

Just how the hell can your honeymoon NOT include the MR-forum crew . . . that is NOT getting your marriage off to a very good start . . . Your wife needs to recognize her place in this relationship . . . grinning smiley

Hey porter! Hey porter!
Please get my bags for me.
I need nobody to tell me now
that we're in Tennessee.
Go tell that engineer to make that
lonesome whistle scream,
We're not so far from home
so take it easy on the steam.

I even got his bride in the back seat of my car, if you know what I mean....(nudge, nudge, wink, wink....)

I was going to say that Yakima isn't that far for me, and then it started to snow here on the banks of Puget Sound and contemplating crossing a pass pulled me up short. I can't ever remember a real snowfall here in March, at least not at sea level.....

What it is, man, a low-down and funky feelin'
