QS dual gig processor or faster third party for QS 867?

Cruising along with my QS 867 as a general home computer. Seems fine for most of our use. Web,iphoto, imovie, DVD burning, games not the best.

Loaded up pretty good with

2 Hard drives
1.25gig ram
Radeon 8500
airport card

Just wondering if it would be worth it to put in a Apple dual gig, say for $275 after I sell the 867Mhz card?

Or better to buy a Sonnet, giga,or Owc 1.8 single?

Or how about a dual 1.6 giga?

I know some might say buy a mini, but seriously if they are comparable in speed to an ibook, even my QS 867 is faster and much smoother than any ibook I have used.

Things that makes me lean towards the Apple OEM is reliability and resale.

I doubt there is much in the cards for you beyond a 1.8 (perhaps a 2GHz) whether single or dual..... so resale will be as a complete machine, as it is configured:

QS dual 1.8GHz

or whatever you decide. Larry can address this from a technical end, but I would think at THIS STAGE, mods to any Sawtooth+ card are as close to or possibly better than whatever Apple intended at the time when the 7450 came out vs 7455/7457 (or 7447) that has since come out (and went into other machines after the QS).
