Stuck in SeaTac...
Posted by: ztirffritz

I'm supposed to be flying to Tucson, but my flight has been delayed 4 times due to some type of mechanical issues. I'm not complaining. I'd rather they fix it right than rush the flight, but I'm still getting edgy. My iPod is low on juice, my phone is low, my Axim is low, my laptop is low...its looking grim and the natives are getting restless...

Surely (ok, maybe Shirley...) you can find a plug by now???????

Or, not . . .

Best of Luck...

Suprisingly, there are few power outlets available. I found one and it is a HOT commodity. There are people waiting in line around me to plug in phones, laptops, PDAs...I should start charging (money) for charging (power). They must use REALLY long extension cords when they vaccuum this place, or perhaps battery powered vaccuums.

If you can get to the baggage claim area, there are some plugs behind some of the black pillars that are opposite the side of the street. Guessing you can't get there though if your waiting to fly.

One thing that I find really interesting is that there are about 1/3 Mac Laptops (iBooks, PBs, MB Pro, etc). The last time I was stuck in an airport I remember it being all Dell and HP. In M$'s personal airport, that is pretty impressive.

Note to self...the switch is at hand, buy more Apple stock.

Ironically, I'm using a Compaq running Ubuntu because I can't afford a Mac notebook for myself.

PM Racer X and he will come by and take you out for a drink!
Or at least help you find a power outlet.
Have you tried the mens' room? They often have power outlets there.

Find the outlet they plug the handheld metal detector charger into and just borrow it for awhile. I'm sure no one will mind.

Guantanamo is lovely this time of year.

There's an open wi-fi hotspot outside of the Contintental Presidential club. Don't know about power though.

Guess outsourcing maintenance and baggage handling to Taco Bell wasn't such a great idea?

After 9 hours, our plaing finally took off. I'm sitting comfortably in my room in the Hilton Tucson East. A beer or 6 would be nice but I think that I'll just turn in. I've got a busy day tomorrow.
