Dark Knight with Heath Ledger comes out 12/09

If anyone is interested. I like him...was it Candy where he and his girl friend were druggies? I liked that movie. He was also good in early Ozzie serial...Four Feathers except I like the older Four Feathers (1939) version better.

Well, anyway...I'm anxious to see his last movie.

I'm watching it now! I had to take a break & come up for air with about 45 minutes left.

let us know what you think. I have never watched any of the superman, batman, shadow...since the original Batman and Robin that was humorous years ago.

It's really intense and dark. Leaves you bummed out about humanity. A lot of it, anyway.

Just the opposite is true about the ferry sequence.

Saw it opening night in the iMax theater. Pre-ordered it on Blu-Ray two weeks ago, arrived yesterday. My first Blu-Ray! We watched about half last night before bed time. Will have to pick up again this weekend. One of the best movies I've seen in a while.

It was also nice to see Chicago acting the part of Gotham so well. Lots of good city footage; I am tempted to buy a Blu-Ray player just for this movie and WALL-E.

If anyone gets the BD version can you report back on the quality of the digital copy that is included? I'm tempted to buy the BD version, get the digital copy onto my media Mac via someone else's BD drive, and just wait for a couple years to get the BD player.

I meant to see the Imax version but never got around to it. There was always something more important to do! :-(

Excellent movie!

I had stopped it right before the ferry scene & agree with N-OS X-tasy!

Ledger's Joker was WONDERFULLY disturbing & reminiscent of Nicholson's Joker. This may very well be my favorite Batman movie yet!

FYI. they released the original Batman Movie on DVD within the last few months. the '66 feature movie with Adam West and Burt Ward, Burgess Meridith, Frank Gorshin, and the rest of the crowd.

This is a must-see for anyone who has wondered about Superman -vs- Batman:

(some spoilers if you haven't seen the movie)

I didn't think anybody could surpass Nicolson's Joker, but Ledger did, far and away.

Nicholson's Joker was a buffoon. For nearly twenty years I've been amazed at the acclaim he's received for that performance. De Vito's Penguin in the sequel was a far superior performance.

Ledger was brilliant. It's nearly impossible to take such a well-known, well established character and create something entirely new that still works within established mythology... but that is exactly what Ledger accomplished. I would not be surprised to see elements of his Joker integrated into future comic book depictions of the character.

It is what it is.
