Will my ipod shuffle go to sleep when it is finished?

I wanna use a shuffle for put-me-to-sleep audio. One big long track alone on the ipod. Will I awake to a sleeping ipod or one that has had all it's power drained?

I don't think a Shuffle can be "finished" - won't it just keep going on and on, repeating the same track until it's dead?

somehow I got the idea that taking it off of shuffle mode would allow it to 'finish'. Not sure how I got that idea... but I think you might be right...

It only takes a few moments to load your Shuffle up with one song - put a short one on it, take it off of shuffle, see what happens and report back - I'm curious! smiling smiley

My Shuffle repeats its list from the beginning when it finishes playing through all the tracks. My guess is that you'll wake to a drained battery.

Play the track in iTunes on your computer, and you could make it stop when it's done that way. You can listen with headphones or speakers - do you have a laptop or a Mac that you can locate close to your bed?

Yes I have a laptop close by - just seems kinda stupid using a $2000 machine to play low quality audio next to my bed. But that's what I'm gonna do for now...
