For anyone interested in setting up a striped RAID array...

My RAID array is now up and running and it seems to function quite nicely.

In lieu of putting an 80 GB IDE internal drive in to get the overall storage about where it was before the RAID setup, I am thinking of leaving the Lacie 250GB firewaire drive attached.

Later, I can put the Samsung 160GB SATA drive in an enclosure to replace the Lacie as my backup drive.

So far the system does seem faster and I can't wait to add the 1.2GHz Sonnet processor I bought to bring the system up to Sims2 specs.

My daughter should be pleased...
