John Drake, Danger Man/Secret Agent Man.

"They've given you a number and taken away your name..."

Except that didn't really happen until The Prisoner.

All great shows, nonetheless.

I am that Masked Man.

All you can do, is all you can do.

There’s trouble — it's time to play the sound of my people.

Your boos mean nothing to me, I've seen what you cheer for.

Insisting on your rights without acknowledging your responsibilities isn’t freedom, it’s adolescence.

I've been to the edge of the map, and there be monsters.

We are a government of laws, not men.

Everybody counts or nobody counts.

When a good man is hurt,
all who would be called good
must suffer with him.

You and I have memories longer than the road that stretches out ahead.

There is no safety for honest men except
by believing all possible evil of evil men.

We don’t do focus groups. They just ensure that you don’t offend anyone, and produce bland inoffensive products. —Sir Jonathan Ive

An armed society is a polite society.
And hope is a lousy defense.

You make me pull, I'll put you down.

I *love* SIGs. It's Glocks I hate.

RIP. Eighty's not a bad run. He did some good work. The Prisoner's a great show. I taped the whole thing off air to VHS for a friend years ago (Bless the glory days of PBS when it was a gold mine of science fiction and speculative fiction and a lot less a revolving door of self-help hucksters and pop classical music events).

A sad, sad day. The Prisoner was one of the best shows to come out of the 60s. All of my soccer jerseys are Number 6, and I took a long vacation detour a couple of years ago to visit The Village.

"In science it often happens that scientists say, 'You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken,' and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time something like that happened in politics or religion." (1987) -- Carl Sagan

I visited "The Village" in 1980. The Green Dome was black then; don't know what color it is today. Almost nothing regarding the series on the site; the only thing I found was a Prisoner novel in the gift shop.

I had such a crush on him when I was a girl. Still do, for that younger version at any rate. I am so sorry to hear this.

Every week that Lotus Super Seven with the bright yellow nose would appear onscreen, and then you were off on another adventure...so cool.

Dang! MR Forum is a downer today.

Randy: What the @#$%& are you talking about?

I stayed in The Village about three years ago. Absolutely magical at night once the riffraff had been sent away!

Hey! Don't call me riffraff!

Fine actor.
And my dad turned eighty yesterday, so it hits a little close to home...

I am not Ryan Seacrest, and I do not approve this message.

I have the DVD series sitting on my shelf. Never seen an episode but got it because I'd heard such good things. May be the time to finally crack it open.
